The freedom of Agnostic ineffability

The concept of limitation by definition has constricted our ability to have an empirical relation with what words can not define. Our collective grasp on the truth beyond all truth has not even reached the level of paucity.

What we do know is that we do not know, and this knowing is a liberation from the concern, the fear, we as humans hold in our quest for knowledge. It is the quest itself that is of importance, the old adage of the path not the destination. On this infinite path is likewise infinite knowledge, and to be amongst the infinite is complete freedom.

Agnostic is a word which allows the flexibility to recognize truth within all things, to declare mutiny on the absurd concept of "I know". For the I to know, the I could not be I, for I is definable, limited. I can not know.

The state of mysterium tremendum is a state of complete awe. It is an empirical recognition of the whole, of what is beyond. It is existentialism despair that has overcome its ego.

Ego death is a term used to describe that moment beyond words; our infallible attempts at describing such a thing often use syntax such as cold or despair. Even these things though have ego, limitation, and beyond that, humanities sadness over how inconsequential these flickering moments of breath truly are. Complete ego death is beyond this, it is that ecstatic moment beyond joy and suffering.

The belief that "I suffer", "I am sad", or "I am lonely" is to still exist in the realm of ego, an identification of what one feels. This is not freedom, nor death.

To quote the film the Fountain, "Death is the road to Awe".

To label oneself is to create a definition of beliefs within which we may feel comfortable relating to the world and seeking those who have a similar approach to this existence. On Wikipedia, it states that "agnosticism is a stance between belief and knowledge" Eichenbaum and Bodkin in the essay Belief and knowledge as distinct forms of memory define knowledge as "a disposition to behave that is constantly subject to corrective modification and updating by experience."

In other words, Agnosticism is the knowledge that our recognition of this reality is on the infinite path of growth.

Many of us in human form have had  numinous experience, and these experiences have impacted our view of reality. We take a contingent chance though to define these experiences as the whole of reality. These things which impact us are lessons on the road of knowledge, and once they become a belief which we adhere to, serve the same function as any other belief; to prevent a true experience of what some call God.

For this reason, those who are on the mystical path are all agnostic, as any set belief will only serve one purpose and that is the purpose of limiting ones self.

The abyss of knowledge will devour us, and we must leap without fear or trepidation. To go beyond belief, even faith, and rely on an innate understanding of the function of humanity which in the fall reaches of our history has been linked with ceremony and the creation of myth.

We do not know. Our Raison D'Etre is the state of not knowing, of being completely open to the multitudes of existence. A state of becoming fully conscious of all things, without attachments to what we think. This humbling experience is to bow before and kiss the feet of the divine, understanding that to look up and see the brilliance of the ineffable would blind us;and in this our vision becomes clarified by the anthropic reasons of our very existence.

eyelid

The serpent has licked my eye
reflection of Ayin is exposed

his is a blessing,
and with that,
a curse.

It is all
and
everything in between
Space is that

 which is between the walls.

We dance in this terrain.

        thank you for being here
        it means nothing

The greatest gift is an empty box
not hopeful nor hopeless

Just acceptance.
